🏛 Application Process for Passport Seva at the Indian Embassy and Consulates
- Visit the official Indian Embassy or Consulate Services Portal of the Ministry of External Affairs.
- Select the country from the list where you are residing to start the application process.
🌐Registration and Online Application
- Visit the Official Portal of the Embassy Passport.
- If you are not registered, complete the registration.
- Log in with the credentials received after registration.
- You can track the status of your passport application through the portal.
- You can also connect with the Embassy/Consulate for more assistance.
🛂 Services Available
- At Indian Embassies and consulates, applicants can apply for: -
- New Passport /Reissue of a Passport ( Normal Category).
- Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
- Emergency Certificate
- Diplomatic or Official Passport.
- Surrender the Indian Passport.
- Identity Certificate.
- Background Verification for GEP (Global Entry Program)
🌐 Application Process
- Select the required service and fill out the application form.
- Provide personal, family and other required details.
- Pay the application fees through the available payment options. (Credit/Debit/Internet Banking)
- Schedule an appointment from the available dates.
- Visit the Embassy or Consulate on the scheduled date with all original documents and copies.
- Officials will complete biometric and document verification.
- Post accepting the application, the authority forwards the application to the police department for verification.
- Before passport issuance, the police department conducts a verification drive by visiting the applicant's permanent address in India.
- After successful police verification, the Embassy/Consulate issues the Passport or, as requested.

📌 Important Information
- An online appointment is important for services like Visa, Passport, Passport-related other services, OCI, and other counsellor services.
- The consulate department never sends appointment confirmation via Email. The date and time selected by the applicant during the booking are automatically confirmed.
- The online fee payment for an Emergency Certificate is not available at most of the consulates/embassies. The applicants must pay the fees offline.
