Persons who are born on or after 1st October 2023 must mandatorily attach the following document with the application:
Birth Certificate, issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Municipal Corporation, or any other authority authorized under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.
If your passport has been kept on hold at the RPO, first find out the reason for the hold. If the hold is related to document submission, you must carry all the original documents that you submitted at the passport office at the time of applying for the passport, along with any additional documents that have been requested.
To book an appointment at the passport office, you need to log in to the Passport Seva website. After filling out the application form and paying the required fee, you can select your nearest passport office and book an appointment date through the Pay and Schedule Appointment option.
To apply for a passport, visit the website passportindia.gov.in and complete the registration process.
After logging in, fill out the passport application form, select the required documents, pay the application fee based on the chosen service, and book an appointment.
On the scheduled date, visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) with all original documents for verification.
After that, police verification is conducted. Once all procedures are completed, the passport is issued.

I mistakenly applied for passport on a wrong address, and that application was put on hold due to insufficiency in Proof of Address. So I reapplied for Passport with my correct address, but this time they have put this on hold as my first application is still on hold. As per them, I have to go to RPO to get my first application cancelled. Please suggest how to proceed, and what do I have to carry to RPO for the same if necessary.

In such a situation, you can apply under the normal passport process. For this, you will need to submit your marriage certificate. Based on this, you can apply for your child’s passport and also add your spouse’s name to your passport.
This process is generally not available under the Tatkaal scheme. However, it may also depend on the decision of the concerned passport office.
