Passport Mobile Van Seva Camp

  • Passport Van Seva is a mobile passport service launched by the Ministry of External Affairs, which provides doorstep Passport services, especially to people residing in rural places.
  • With this facility, passport applicants are not required to visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
  • Through this Passport mobile van, applicants can apply for a fresh passport or for the reissue of their existing passport.
  • This mobile van is equipped with biometric and document verification facilities. Applicants can opt for this service while submitting their application form.
  • On average, around 20 to 40 passport applications can be processed in a single day through this mobile passport van.
  • With this service, applicants are not required to stand in long queues, and it also saves both time and money.
  • It is especially beneficial for disabled, rural citizens, senior citizens, and others.
  • The service is now available in most of the states, whose availability can be checked online through the Passport Seva Portal.

How to Apply Online for the Passport Van Seva?

  • Visit the Passport Seva Portal.
  • If not registered, register on the portal.
  • Log in with the details.
  • Fill out the application form with the requested details.
  • Pay the Fees online through the available payment modes.
  • Check the availability of Mobile Van Seva in your area.
  • If available, select Mobile Van Seva while booking your appointment.
  • Once your appointment is confirmed, you will be notified via SMS and Email.
  • Visit the given address on the scheduled date with all the required documents.
  • Officials in the van will verify your details and documents.
  • Post this, your application will be forwarded for police verification.
  • After successful police verification, the RPO will dispatch your passport through the India Post Speed Post.

Important Points

  • This mobile van service doesn't accept applications under the Tatkal category, PCC application, or applications on hold due to a lack of documents.
  • Before opting for this service, confirm and verify the address of the mobile van operating in your area.
