Converting a Tatkal Application into a Normal Application

• If you have submitted a passport application under the Tatkal category, it cannot be directly converted into a normal passport application.
• For this, you must first visit the Passport Seva Kendra on the scheduled date. If on that day, your application is not processed due to an incomplete document or another issue, you can book a new appointment under the Tatkaal category.
• If you wish to proceed through the normal procedure (and your file is not on hold), you can request this at the Passport Office to convert your passport application into a normal one.
• TCS officials present at the Passport Office will provide an edit facility for your application.
• Once this edit option is enabled, you can change your Tatkal Passport application to a Normal Application online by visiting the Passport Seva Portal.
• It will usually take around one day to convert your Tatkal Application into a Normal Application (you can edit your application the next day).

Tatkal Application Fees Refund

The amount paid for the Tatkal Application will not be refunded.

Note :

• A Normal Application cannot be converted into a Tatkal Application.
• Tatkal allow two appointments, while Normal Application offers three.
