Passport Van Seva is a mobile passport service launched by the Ministry of External Affairs, which provides doorstep Passport services, especially to people residing in rural places.
With this facility, passport applicants are not required to visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
Through this Passport mobile van, applicants can apply for a fresh passport or for the reissue of their existing passport.
This mobile van is equipped with biometric and document verification facilities. Applicants can opt for this service while submitting their application form.
On average, around 20 to 40 passport applications can be processed in a single day through this mobile passport van.
With this service, applicants are not required to stand in long queues, and it also saves both time and money.
It is especially beneficial for disabled, rural citizens, senior citizens, and others.
The service is now available in most of the states, whose availability can be checked online through the Passport Seva Portal.
