Passport Application Process for Hajj/Umrah Pilgrimage

  • The passport application process for pilgrimages to countries like Saudi Arabia (Hajj/Umrah) is similar to the regular passport application.
  • Passports issued for Hajj/Umrah have a minimum validity of at least 6 months.
  • Usually, the booking for Hajj/Umrah is done through an authorised travel agency.
  • After that, the visa process for Saudi Arabia begins based on the passport with maximum validity.
  • If you do not have a valid passport at that time, you are not allowed to undertake the journey.
  • Ensure your passport is valid before the journey, and if needed, renew it in advance before the journey.

🖥 Passport Application (New or Renewal)

  • Apply online through Passport Seva Portal.
  • Registered users log in with their credentials.
  • New user must first register.
  • Select Apply for Passport or Renewal of Passport.
  • Share your personal and family details.
  • Fill in the details of your old passport (if applicable)
  • Pay the applicable fees online.
  • Choose the nearest Passport Seva Kendra /POPSK and book an appointment.
  • On the scheduled appointment date, visit the passport office with original documents.
  • At the PSK, biometric data is captured and documents are verified.
  • A police verification will be conducted.
  • If the police verification report is positive, the passport will be delivered at the applicant's address via speed post.
  • Under the normal passport application, the process usually takes around 15 to 25 days.
  • For urgent travel, you can submit a passport application under the Tatkal category, which incurs an additional fee.
  • Under the tatktal service, passport geneally inssued within 10 to 15 days.
