Its usage
To contact in emergency cases: -
During international travel, if you face any emergency (like Medical, Accident, or legal issue), the Indian Embassy or Consulate can use the shared emergency contact number.
During Passport Verification or application-related
If your primary number is not reachable or out of service during police verification, then the authority can contact you through this number.
